30 Secs With Kenyatta Scott

If we only had 30 secs to get to know you. What would you want us to know?

I am a wild child, chasing after God's perfect vision for my life. It's true when they say that God can increase you, "Suddenly", because that was my actual experience. I went from a Woman who was struggling to find her way at the end of a very serious romantic relationship, to a Mighty Woman of God, owning her own business, and kicking off the New Year with solo travel, to Hawaii, to write. Being a Children's Book Author brings me so much joy! I rediscovered myself in Hawaii. Wrote on the sandy beach while watching the surfers, went whale watching and sunbathing in the middle of the ocean, saw the sunrise from the top of the volcano, ordered 2 desserts at the most popular restaurant in Maui, and was chanted over during a traditional Lomi Lomi massage. I met some amazing people there, including the new "ME". I am thankful for closed doors and unanswered prayers.

Favorite Pastime:

I'm big on self care. I've learned to be very protective of that time. I also utilize the power of the words, "Not at this time." I listen to my body and take quiet time out, just for myself. I realize, when operating at high levels, that I "cannot pour from an empty cup". My favorite pastimes consist of being outside in nature, receiving reflexology, traveling the world, spending time with close girlfriends, hanging out with my dog, Cole, and even the occasional solo date to the movies, out to eat, or a concert!

Upcoming project(s):

I have 2 books coming out this year! To God be the glory! The first book in The Violet Series is "Violet Finds A Dollar" I have a private Book Launch scheduled for Oct 28, 2017. The book will also be made accessible to the public on this date via Barnes & Noble.com and Amazon. The book, along with a line of Children's T-shirts, will also be available for direct purchase from my website. In the future, the book will be available in book stores across the nation.

The Violet Series is a morally based Children's Book series that highlights Violet's adventures with her Family, with a focus on Daddy Daughter time. This series also promotes reading comprehension and engagement through a series of questions that are found at the back of every book.

The 2nd book is "It's Just High School", which is tentatively set for release in November 2017. I am Co-Author of this book. This is a collaborative project with other African American women. We recant stories from our High School years that we believe will help Teens today that are trying to find their way and place in the World. This book will also be available for purchase on Barnes & Noble.com, Amazon, and my Website
